Job Title Manager, Sports Communication Auto req ID 4388BR CBS Business Unit Showtime Networks Division/Station Showtime Networks Department Showtime Sports Location New York - New York Job Description Manager, Sports Communication Position Summary: This position is responsible for developing and executing consumer & trade publicity campaigns for live television events, studio television programs, and overall department outreach both within the company and externally under the supervision of the Director. Also responsible for talent relations (athletes and on air talent) VIP relations, event on site PR logistics, television production logistics, website editing/updating. Principal Responsibilities: * Coordinate creation (writing, editing) and dissemination of primary publicity elements (news releases, bios, photography, video assets) * Execute publicity campaigns for live boxing and mixed martial arts events. * Execute weekly publicity campaign for Inside The NFL, Inside NASCAR, and periodic campaigns for sports documentaries * Develop and cultivate relationships with new media sources, key reporters, producers, columnists, including developing new relationships with leading online news, sports and pop culture outlets. * Fulfill press requests including arrange interviews, pitch story ideas, acquire publicity placement. * Act as liaison between SEP marketing/SHO production on air talent and athletes, managers, event promoters, publicity teams, organizers, etc. * Coordinate event logistics: staff and vendor logistics at public events and press conferences. * Write, edit and disseminate inter-departmental communications (event announcement, messaging details, etc. Decision Making/Accountability: The Manager should act independently in fulfilling press and inter-departmental requests for event information. Should be resourceful in developing new media relationships and story placements/pitches. The responsibility of disseminating clear, concise and very accurate information from this department is a must. **Please note that this position requires HEAVY travel, weekend work and very flexible hours. You may be out of the office working at domestic and international shows, as needed. Required Skills/Experience Ideal candidate will have three-five years of experience in public relations, communications or sports /internship and/or employment. Prefer college degree in Communications, English or related discipline. Minimum Education Level Bachelor's Degree
