Job Description Marketing Manager
Louisville, KY
Responsible for all direct marketing and e-marketing efforts in support of Churchill Downs Racetrack (CDRT) and Trackside at Churchill promotions and events. Responsibilities include developing and managing direct mail and e-marketing efforts, software and database integrity, working with other departments and Corporate to coordinate overall direct mail and e-marketing efforts, manage corresponding budget, strategic planning and financial analysis of these marketing efforts, including pulling reports and analyzing business level data. In addition, some promotional responsibilities will be required, including managing handicapping contests during live racing and simulcasting.
# ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develop and deploy Customer Relationship Management (CRM) campaigns via direct mail and e-marketing efforts.
# Create promotional copy, targeted offers and communications message and design.
# Oversee all direct mail efforts including software database integrity.
# Work with the Supervisor to develop budgetary and strategic plans and do financial analysis of marketing efforts.
# Develop post-analyses including data compilation, promotion assessments, measurements to goal, and comparison analyses.
# Analyze effectiveness and make recommendations to modify efforts.
# Develop analysis to maximize return on investment via promotions, coupon redemption, target segments and other information.
# Use application software such as Epiphany and Streamline to run reports to assess player activity levels, track current and lapsed behavior and make proactive recommendations to build business levels with new and existing TSC members.
# Assist Twin Spires Club Manager with direct mail efforts to effectively reach TSC and non-TSC members and make recommendations on communications, mailings and incentives/offers.
# Help to promote and encourage the Twin Spires Club through e-marketing and direct mail efforts; implement conversion efforts to non-TSC members to sign up for the Club in order to increase TSC membership levels.
# Assist Promotions team with the implementation of on-site promotions and events during live racing and simulcasting.
EDUCATION and DESIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
# Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; major emphasis of study should be Marketing, Business and/or Communications.
# Experience in database marketing preferred with four to six years experience with a strength in one or more of the following: Permission Marketing
E-Marketing
Copy Writing
Promotions and Incentive Marketing
