Job Description
Title VP Finance City Carlsbad State CA Description The VP of Finance will be responsible for overseeing Divisional Finance and partnering with Senior Management to develop strategic and tactical business plans and to provide timely and accurate analysis to assist management in its goal of making fact-based decisions. This person also is responsible for defining measures to evaluate how the company is performing against its strategic and tactical business plans. Responsibilities also include making sure data is consistent and accurate between divisions, providing direction for key business processes and must have proven experience in overseeing/managing mergers and acquisitions. Reporting/Data Consistency Management: . Definitions of sales, gross margins, operating expenses, etc. . Analysis of the systems used to gather information to help Divisional Finance ensure accuracy and timeliness of information presented . Coordinate reporting requirements from the divisions/regions and from corporate and lead the process to choose and implement reporting, budgeting and analysis tools that will meet divisional and corporate requirements . Support Corporate Accounting with systems and financial reporting support Forecasting Support: . Support the data input (Work with divisions/regions to provide best/most accurate data available) . Coordinate with Divisional Finance to insure complete and accurate Revenue, Profit and Inventory projections on a monthly basis using a uniform Planning tool . Use outcome of process to provide CFO with a consolidated P&L and cash flow forecasts . Analyze Actual results to provide feedback to Senior Corporate Management on Divisional Forecast accuracy, key variances, opportunities and potential problems Strategic Plan Support: . Provide financial support for the strategic plan . Coordinate Planning Process with Divisions and Publish Consolidated Planning Calendar . Develop, measure and report to Senior Corporate Management Strategic Planning Objectives . Analyze divisional and corporate plans for consistency . Update data used to support Corporate Strategic Plan (Market, industry, economic, competitor, etc. Investor Relations Support: . Support CFO in managing current investor base and efforts to drive new investment in our stock . 1st line with investors/sell side . Plan, execute investor trips . Plan/Coordinate, annual investor conference Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: . Thorough understanding of accounting principles . Advanced knowledge of Excel . Intermediate knowledge of Word . Introductory knowledge of PowerPoint . Must be a self starter . Excellent communication skills Preferred: . Basic knowledge of Six Sigma principles . Intermediate knowledge of SAP/QAD ERP systems Requirements Education and/or Experience: . Minimum 10-15 years experience as an analyst building models to analyze return on investments for a company that manufacturers or sells tangible products in global business environment . Minimum 5 years experience managing a Finance department . Strategic planning and business development experience . Previous experience in managing a Worldwide Forecasting/Planning process . Mergers & Acquisition experience . BA in Finance or Accounting . Masters in Business Administration Preferred: . Investor Relations experience . Previous Finance experience in a manufacturing/distribution related company . Experience in the consumer products industry . Knowledge of Foreign Currency hedging . Specific experience in sales and inventory forecasting for a consumer products company . Experience with advanced consolidations/reporting/planning/analysis tools like Hyperion
